Welcome to the Blog!!!

I'd like to welcome everyone to the New Manna House Ministries web site, and especially the Good Mood's blog. This will be a blog for all of us to share our experience, strength, and hope. Please feel free to post your positive thoughts and comments. This is a place for encouragement and fellowship. Also please remember that anonymity is just as important on this site as it is in the meetings. If you wish to address someone in a postive way please do so by using there first name and last initial only. Example is....Lee B. is hosting a grief support meeting on Thursday nights. I'd like to invite all to attend.
On another positive note Sandy Y. reported that as a result of our new Daily Bread Recovery classes at least nine people have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord. God Bless each of you for your continued support of Manna House Ministries.
Don't forget the Tuesday night meal at 5 pm.

Deliverence weekend truly was awesome and even more. My heart was so blessed first thing Friday night..seeing the faces of several who had been in & out of the doors at Manna House but now coming with a sincere/true heart hungry for God & and recovery. We all went around the circle & introduced ourselves. One young fellow said his name & "its not about me anymore". Such humilty... I knew right off that it was gonna be GOOOOUUUDD stuff.
The talks were great to say the least. They were on the Prodigal Son and flowed with the 12 steps. We would have a talk, praise & worship, then sit down at our designated table and discuss. It was so cool (God cool)!! Maureen & Gail was at my table along with Anna, Beth, and Kassi. Oh and a lady named Tina who is engaged to a recovering addict. She works at a bank too :) I think God put her there just for me & hope to get to talk to her again soon. I could not hold back the tears as I would see God minister thru the ladies to "my gals". I was truly blessed. Each group wrote on a paper what they wanted to be delivered from and then threw it in a fire after prayer. God truly moved & delivered..I know & trust.
We had good food and guess what music with a real band...hee hee. Mark C. had all of us CD's made. Let me know and I will get one for any of you who would like one.
When I went to Manna House yesterday, I could see right off that their was an even closer bond between the girls. What this weekend done for me was reassure me of God's love for me in an amazing and powerful way. As I reflect I am still blown away by how smoothly it went and God's presence there. Thank you to all who were involved & thank You Lord for your love and this much needed weekend.

I am just blown away by all that God is doing at Manna House lately!! Even when I'm away from there I just can't quit thinking about all the lives that are being touched & changed in such a mighty way. Not an empty seat in the house last night...people coming hungry and searching for a better way of life. I love it!! Shew THANK You Lord!! I know you won't take any credit James M. and it's a we thing but still I want to thank you for being obedient to God's vision. I LOVE MY MANNA HOUSE FAMILY!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words Trish, but you said it, it's a WE thing in recovery. The first 11 steps begin with WE. I don't know where I'd be without you guys. I also want to praise God. Lee B. sent a text after he visited the Pickett Co. jail Friday night and said a young man gave his heart to Jesus! WooHoo! I sure thank all the Manna House folks for being obedient to the Holy Spirit.

I was there for Deliverance Weekend. It was one of the best experiences of my Christian Life. I am so grateful to have been a part of it and will treasure the memory of it forever. We never know what God has in mind for us. We start out sometimes thinking we will be able to help, but like Lee, I found myself blessed and ministered to as well by the stories and the openness of people's hearts. It was a wonderful weekend - even when the whipperwhil woke me at 5am Sunday morning. :)Ha!
